59Fifty – Hats

The Style

By far New Era’s most popular and my favorite style, the 59Fifty. Created in 1954, the hat exploded in the MLB and slowly began to take over baseball teams all over the country. It now serves as the on-field hat for the MLB as well as the most popular style for a majority of sports hat lovers.

My First 59Fifty

I purchased this hat at a lids nearby my house back in Chicago. At the beginning of my collecting, stores that directly sold these hats were lacking in the creative department. They eventually began to create much more and higher quality hats, so I ended up purchasing this one after having my eye on it for a while. I love the colors on the hat and I am a Chicago White Sox fan. The overall design of the hat makes me appreciate this being my very first 59Fifty.
